Treatment Philosophy
The therapeutic relationship forms the crux of my treatment philosophy, whether it is the treatment relationship I have with an adult, teenaged or child client, the relationship that is nurtured between a parent and their child or the internal relationship between the client and themselves. I hope to always bring an attitude of gentle, compassionate presence to these relationships as such awareness is useful in reducing emotions that can get in the way of being curious about symptoms and behaviors that are hurtful or maladaptive.
Within this framework, I weave in a variety of treatment interventions including, but not limited to: EMDR, mindfulness, attachment-focused/affect-focused work and ego-state work.
I work in Ann Arbor, Michigan and see clients from around the area.
